The general rule when buying binoculars is to ensure that the objective lens diameter (that's the one at the other end of the binoculars not the one you look through, is at least 3 times the magnification value, i.e 8x24, 12x36 etc. The bigger the difference i.e. 5x in 10x50's widens the field of view meaning that objects are easier to find and that there is more light available to see the subject. I know these are 'toy binoculars, but they do seem to fulfil all of the criteria and hopefully will help little eyes focus easier and perhaps encourage kids to use them more than once!.

My 4 yr old daughter was beyond excited for these to come in. She was even more excited when she realized they actually work unlike ones she's had before. They are so durable as she's already dropped them a zillion times with no damages! They are a great size to! Perfect for her hands to wrap around the sides to hold. The rubber around the spot for their eyes is a wonderful touch. They can be adjusted by a dail in the middle. She's already spent hours outside and by the window watching birds and bugs. Love these! Definitely recommended!!!
